Meet Roxanne Kohne

Registered Holistic Nutritionist, R.H.N.

I'm a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N) specializing in Digestive and Gastrointestinal Health. My passion for all things gut related stems from personal experience. After being diagnosed with IBD at 13 I thought my life was over, but it was only just beginning. I was suffering with symptoms such as cramping, abdominal pain, nausea, weight loss, and overall malnutrition. It took many years of research, trial/error, and seeing numerous practitioners to see how vital optimal nutrition helps with overall quality of life. My nutrition/wellness beliefs led me to pursuing a diploma in Holistic Nutrition at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN). I believe that most issues people face with their health derives from poor gut health. It's my mission and passion in life to help people like me overcome their chronic digestive issues. At the end of the day, you are what you eat!

Digestion

Adequate digestion is crucial for most body functions. For example, if you have a digestive disorder we can help you identify potential food triggers to get your digestion back on track,

Fatigue

Gut bacteria interacts with the nervous system which directly influences your mental stamina, focus and concentration.

Food Allergies/Intolerance

Common food triggers can contribute to gastrointestinal symptoms. Properly identifying and removing those foods is imperative to improving overall gut health.

Sleep

A lack of sleep may impact digestive health by increasing the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, obesity and gastrointestinal diseases. It can also impact our bowel's ability to rest and digest. This can lead to bowel muscle fatigue that can reduce bowel movement and function.

Mood Imbalances

Unhealthy eating patterns may result in reduced serotonin levels as neurotransmitters are produced in healthy guts.

Stress

Our bodies need for nutrients increases during stressful periods. Stress also shuts down digestion, contributing to symptoms.
